More injury woe for Beto

Beto, 26, has undergone surgery on the injury he suffered after falling heavily during the second half of Sporting's 1-0 away success. The Portuguese international now faces further disruption to his season, having just returned from a knee injury which had kept him out of the side since November.

The last-16 encounter at the José Gomes stadium was only Beto's second appearance of the year. The game was won by a 48th-minute strike from Mário Jardel, the Brazilian's first goal in two months.
