Ratko Dostanic has handed in his resignation as coach of Serbo-Montenegrin side FK Sartid.

Record finish
The coach had led Sartid to third place in the Prva savezna liga at the winter break - the best placing Sartid have ever achieved at the halfway point in a season - but claims that the club's refusal to accept changes in their organisation prompted his decision to quit.

'Professional decision'
"This is a professional decision," said Dostanic. "I wanted to make some organisational changes in the club, because I thought that would be a good thing. However, with that regard, the club have not been able to cooperate and they understand my decision to leave."

Bogdanovic disagreement
Dostanic was keen to appoint 38-year-old midfield player Goran Bogdanovic as Sartid's new sporting director, but the club were keen for the long-serving player - an icon at Sartid - to play the remaining six months of the season before taking a decision on his future.

Transfer funds
In addition, Dostanic was keen to buy new players in January to boost Sartid's hopes of keeping pace with the league leaders in Serbia and Montenegro, but the club insisted that there were no funds available for transfers. A new coach will be appointed in the new year.
