Dhorasoo to leave Lyon

Vikhash Dhorasoo has confirmed that he will leave French champions Olympique Lyonnais in the summer.

Move abroad likely
Dhorasoo's present contract ends in June and the midfield player claimed he had not "received any proposal from Lyon" concerning an extension. The 30-year-old's agent, Alain Migliaccio, said the French international would likely move to a club abroad, something reiterated by a Lyon spokesman who said: "He preferred to pursue his career abroad and we wish him luck."

Loan spell
Dhorasoo arrived in Lyon in summer 1998 from Le Havre AC and has had a mixed time at the Stade Gerland. He spent the 2001/02 season on loan at FC Girondins de Bordeaux, helping them win the French League Cup.

Excellent form
He had earlier picked up a winner's medal in the same competition with Lyon and on returning from Bordeaux, played his part in Lyon's Ligue 1 title triumph last term. Since the turn of the year Dhorasoo, capped twice by France, has been in excellent form for Lyon and is hoping to end his spell at the club with more silverware.

Focus on title
"Now, for me, the main thing is to finish strongly and clinch a third title for Lyon," he said. With six matches remaining, Lyon are a point clear of AS Monaco FC at the top of the table, and three above Paris Saint-Germain FC.
