Angulo banned for seven games

Cases

Valencia CF's Miguel Ángel Angulo has received a seven-match ban for his sending-off against Werder Bremen.

Spat on opponent
Angulo received a red card for his challenge on Nelson Valdez in the closing minutes of Valencia's 2-0 home loss to Bremen on 7 December, a result that confirmed their elimination from the Champions League. He subsequently spat on an opponent as he was leaving the pitch.

Long ban
Valencia will play in the UEFA Cup after Christmas after finishing third in Group G and Angulo would only be able to play again in European competition this season if they reached the semi-finals of the tournament they won last year, in which case he would be available for the second leg.

Both clubs fined
Valencia, in addition, have received a €26,000 fine from UEFA's control and disciplinary body for their players' improper conduct against Bremen. They had another five players booked and a scuffle broke out with the Bremen players following Angulo's dismissal. UEFA also took into account the throwing of missiles by supporters at the Mestalla. Bremen did not go unpunished for the scuffle either and they received a fine of €3,250 for improper conduct.

Semberas suspended
The PFC CSKA Moskva defender Deividas Semberas, meanwhile, has been handed a three-match ban following his sending-off in the 3-1 win at Paris Saint-Germain FC on the same night. He was sent off for a second yellow card and subsequently insulted the fourth official. Consequently, Semberas will not be eligible when CSKA enter the UEFA Cup Round of 32 in February.

Improper conduct of supporters
There were also fines for PSG and CSKA following their Champions League Group H meeting. PSG received a €7,800 fine for the improper conduct of their supporters, who set off flares in the Parc des Princes. CSKA were given a €3,250 fine after their fans set off and threw flares in the stadium. All these decisions, except the fine for CSKA, may be appealed by midnight on Friday (17 December).
