Burnley departure
The 29-year-old left-back joins the Scottish runners-up from English second-tier team Burnley FC, having been out of contract at the end of the 2004/05 season. Strachan, who replaced Martin O'Neill at the helm last month, said: "Gary Pendrey, my assistant, has seen him a lot. I have seen him a few times and I think we've all come to the agreement that if we can get someone of his quality on a Bosman, we have to take it."
Friday draw
Celtic will enter the Champions League in the second qualifying round after being pipped to the title by Rangers FC. They will learn their potential opponents - on 26/27 July and 2/3 August - when the draw is made on Friday.
