Cup win
The 38-year-old former Greek international midfielder returns to the club he served as a player between January 1998 and June 1999, taking over from caretaker coach Nikolaos Kostenoglou who had been in charge since Lorenzo Serra Ferrer left in February. Donis has spent the last four seasons with Larissa FC, securing promotion to the Super League in his first campaign before winning the Greek Cup in 2007 with victory against Panathinaikos FC. AEK will participate in the UEFA Cup second qualifying round next season by virtue of their third-place finish in the end-of-season play-offs, which concluded on Wednesday.
