FC Zenit St. Peterburg playmaker Alejandro Dominguez has returned to his former club FC Rubin Kazan on a one-year contract.

Return
The 27-year-old Argentinian moves back to Kazan just two days before they begin the defence of their Russian Premier-Liga title against FC Kuban Krasnodar. He left Rubin for Zenit in 2006 and helped them win the 2007 Russian title and 2008 UEFA Cup, UEFA Super Cup and Russian Super Cup. However, having appeared four times in the UEFA Champions League group stage this season, helping Zenit earn a UEFA Cup return, he was relegated to the reserves in the winter due to disciplinary reasons. Rubin will make their UEFA Champions League group-stage debut in September.
