Czech FA talks with UEFA in Nyon

Ivan Hašek, the newly elected president of the Football Association of the Czech Republic and new coach of the Czech national team, has visited UEFA headquarters in Nyon.

Ivan Hašek, the newly elected president of the Football Association of the Czech Republic (CMFS) and new coach of the Czech national team, has visited UEFA's headquarters in Nyon.

Talks
Hašek met UEFA President Michel Platini and other senior officials for talks centring on the development of European and world football and the activities of the CMFS. He was accompanied by CMFS general secretary Rudolf Řepka, and the two were briefed about UEFA's work on behalf of its member associations, including the HatTrick programme.

Majority
Following a successful playing career with, among others, AC Sparta Praha and RC Strasbourg, and coaching stints at several clubs including Sparta, Strasbourg and AS Saint-Etienne, Hašek received the majority of votes from delegates from the Czech and Moravian chambers in the CMFS presidential election in June.

World Cup
After his election as president, Hašek, who made 56 appearances for the Czechoslovakian and Czech national sides as a player, took charge of the Czech team for the remainder of their 2010 FIFA World Cup Group 3 qualifying campaign.
