UEFA will be giving its backing to World Heart Day on 27 September as part of its continuing support of public health initiatives – and the World Heart Federation has produced a video to put across its key messages.

Massive impact
Organised by the World Heart Federation, one of UEFA's six core partners in its fair play and social responsibility portfolio, World Heart Day 2009 is dedicated to improving well-being in the workplace in an attempt to reduce the massive economic impact of the 17.2m deaths caused by heart disease and strokes around the world annually.

Video message
In an attempt to deliver its message to the widest possible audience, the World Heart Federation has created a video entitled Work with Heart featuring world dance champions Fabrice Martin and Dorel Surbeck, and has posted it on popular social media networks. (Click here to watch the video.)

New level of communication
"We see this as a fun and entertaining way to call on people to Work with Heart," said Helen Alderson, chief executive officer of the World Heart Federation. "With this tool, we aim to enter a new level of communication in our ninth year of celebrating World Heart Day."
