FC Internazionale Milano missed out on the chance to move to within a point of Serie A leaders S.S. Lazio as the Nerazzurri were held to a 1-1 home draw by Brescia Calcio.
Andrea Caracciolo scored the opening goal after 14 minutes when he controlled a long ball, cut inside Walter Samuel and beat Luca Castellazzi with ease. Thereafter Rafael Benítez's team, beaten 3-1 by Tottenham Hotspur FC in the UEFA Champions League in midweek, laid siege to Michele Arcari's goal until Samuel Eto'o, who was brought down by Jonathan Zebina, levelled from the penalty spot (72) with his 19th goal of the season in all competitions. Lazio can move six points clear of second-placed Inter with a win in the Rome derby on Sunday.
Bologna FC moved out of the relegation zone with a 2-0 home win against US Lecce, the Rossoblù's first victory in six matches. The hosts broke the deadlock (84) thanks to Marco Di Vaio's sixth league goal of the season before substitute Henry Giménez made sure of the points a minute later. Bologna move up six places to 12th, level on points with Lecce, who remain without an away win this season.
