Brescia block Inter's rise towards Milan

Andrea Caracciolo struck an equaliser after 84 minutes as Brescia Calcio earned a 1-1 draw and denied FC Internazionale Milano the chance to climb within two points of AC Milan.

FC Internazionale Milano missed the chance to close within two points of leaders AC Milan as they were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw at second-bottom Brescia Calcio.

Inter took the lead after 18 minutes when Wesley Sneijder's corner was helped on towards the back post and Samuel Eto'o pounced from close range for his 19th league goal of the season.

That appeared to be enough for the Nerazzurri until Alessandro Diamanti's 84th-minute corner found its way to Andrea Caracciolo and the forward nodded in to move the hosts within two points of safety.

Both sides finished the game with ten men as Iván Córdoba (89) was shown a straight red card for conceding a penalty and Caracciolo a second yellow minutes after he missed the resulting spot-kick.

The result leaves second-placed Inter facing the prospect of trailing their city rivals by seven points should the Rossoneri overcome struggling AS Bari on Sunday. Leonardo's side travel to FC Bayern München on Tuesday with a 1-0 deficit in their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie.
