German champions Borussia Dortmund have extended the contract of Felipe Santana, the day after giving Patrick Owomoyela and Mitch Langerak new deals.

Santana's fresh agreement will keep him at the Westfalenstadion until 2014. The 26-year-old Brazilian centre-back joined Dortmund from Figueirense FC in 2008 and has made 74 Bundesliga appearances, including ten starts last term, scoring five goals.

The club's sporting director Michael Zorc said: "Felipe is a quality player and we are happy to have him on board next season. He is an exceptional professional, his personality is a great gain for our team but most of all he is one of the best centre-backs in the league."

Owomoyela, 32, has also been at Dortmund since 2008, scoring three times in 76 Bundesliga games, and is now committed to the club until June 2013. Zorc added: "We believe that Patrick, with his diligence and footballing ability, will be an important member of this squad once he recovers from his calf injury."

The left-sided player, who can operate in defence or midfield, added: "I'm very happy that Dortmund have put their faith in me despite having picked up this injury at an unfortunate time. I'm looking forward to starting my fifth season with Dortmund."

Australian reserve goalkeeper Langerak, meanwhile, has committed to the club for another four seasons, with the 2010 signing from Melbourne Victory having made two Bundesliga appearances this season. The 23-year-old came on for Roman Weidenfeller 34 minutes into the German Cup final, helping Dortmund to secure their first domestic double.
