Juventus extended their lead at the top of Serie A to seven points with a 3-0 home win against relegation-threatened AC Siena, while the spoils were shared in the Milan derby.

Second-placed SSC Napoli will hope to cut the advantage when they visit Udinese Calcio on Monday, Stephan Lichtsteiner's first-half goal having set Juve on the path back to winning ways following last week's loss at AS Roma. The defender tapped in at the back post after Gianluca Pegolo had fumbled Mirko Vučinić's ball, with Sebastian Giovinco and Paul Pogba then securing the victory after the break.

AC Milan remain third but were disappointed to take only a point from their clash with city rivals FC Internazionale Milano. The Rossoneri went ahead courtesy of Stephan El Shaarawy's smart finish on 21 minutes, before Samir Handanovič in the Inter goal made three outstanding saves to prevent Mario Balotelli extending the lead. The Nerazzuri eventually drew level through Ezequiel Schelotto's 71st-minute header.

Elsewhere, Roma edged a rollercoaster affair 3-2 at Atalanta BC as Vassilis Torossidis' header sealed the result, and Cagliari Calcio defeated nine-man Torino FC 4-3. Mauricio Pinilla's 87th-minute strike put Cagliari 3-2 up after they had trailed 2-1, but they needed Daniele Conti to double his tally late in added time to clinch the points after Rolando Bianchi managed to equalise from the spot.

Also on Sunday, Calcio Catania triumphed 2-1 at Parma FC courtesy of goals from Francesco Lodi and Keko, and UC Sampdoria beat AC Chievo Verona 2-0.
