FC Dinamo Tbilisi have completed the domestic double after a 3-1 victory against FC Chikhura Sachkhere in the Georgian Cup final.

Dinamo – who ten days ago defeated their opponents 4-2 in the penultimate match of their triumphant Umaglesi Liga campaign – were denied a first-half lead by Chikhura goalkeeper Giorgi Somkhishvili who saved Xisco Muñoz's spot kick.

The champions, for whom this is a tenth domestic cup success, eventually went in front on 58 minutes when Giorgi Merebashvili, fouled for the penalty, rifled a shot high into the far corner after controlling a cross from Peter Grajciar. Merebashvili then turned provider as his corner was headed in by Lasha Khmaladze.

With his second assist, Grajciar set up Dinamo's third goal, scored by Irakli Dzaria, before Ustaritz Aldekoaotalora was dismissed for a professional foul with ten minutes remaining. Edik Sajaia struck a consolation for Chikhura Sachkhere, who finished fourth in the Georgian top flight.

Dinamo coach Dušan Uhrin said:"We went into the break not in the best mood – a missed penalty always puts pressure on a team. I'm so happy right now because before the season our goal was to win the double. Now all we are thinking about is a holiday after a really hard campaign."
