Aalborg beat FCK to take Danish Cup

Just four days after claiming the title, Aalborg BK completed a domestic double with a 4-2 defeat of FC København in the Danish Cup final at Copenhagen's Parken Stadium.

Andreas Cornelius headed FCK in front as he met Lars Jacobsen's cross on 18 minutes, but the 11,000 AaB supporters in the 27,380-strong crowd soon had cause to celebrate before the interval as defender Rasmus Thelander got his head to two Kasper Kusk corners in the space of four minutes to put his side in front. Aalborg then scored twice in the space of three minutes after the break, Jakob Ahlmann's 72nd-minute effort followed by a strike from substitute Søren Frederiksen on the counterattack on 74 minutes, though Icelandic midfielder Rúrik Gíslason restored some pride for FCK with a goal in the closing stages.

"I am so proud of this team," Aalborg captain Rasmus Würtz said. "The boys have really grown into men this season - we have developed a lot. We have played fantastic football throughout the season, and we proved this again tonight on an away ground, which actually turned into a home ground due to the fantastic support from our fans."

FCK captain Lars Jacobsen noted: "We made four disastrous mistakes, and that is hard to overcome. Actually, we did very well during the first half hour, but you cannot win a football game if you make four mistakes of the kind we made tonight."
