Shuneiko to shore up Levski

PFC Levski Sofia have signed Belarussian international defender Vladimir Shuneiko on a free transfer.

'A real asset'
The Bulgarian club confirmed the move, with Levski director Todor Batkov saying: "We have a shortage of top-class defenders and are experiencing serious difficulties at the back. Shuneiko will be a real asset to us."

International class
Shuneiko brings international experience to Levski, who are second in the A PFG table. The 28-year-old is expected to earn a 13th senior cap in Belarus's forthcoming UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifying tie against Moldova.

'A good defender'
Krylya Sovetov president German Tkachanko said: "Shuneiko is a good defender. I have no doubt his future career will be a success. We are grateful for his contribution to the club and agreed to his wish for a move."
