Having landed AC Milan forward Alberto Gilardino on Wednesday ahead of their return to the UEFA Champions League next season, the Viola beat off competition from a number of top European teams to recruit Jovetić on a long-term deal. The teenager scored eleven goals in 23 games for Partizan last term, captaining the Belgrade giants to championship glory. He won his only international cap in a March 2007 friendly against Hungary.
