Chelsea FC scored four times without reply in the second half against Tottenham Hotspur FC to move seven points clear at the Premier League summit, while Arsenal FC reached the FA Cup semi-finals.

Originally named as a substitute, Samuel Eto'o was drafted into the starting XI following a groin injury to Fernando Torres in the warm-up, and the Cameroon striker started the scoring after capitalising on a slip and subsequent errant clearance by Jan Vertonghen.

Younès Kaboul was dismissed for a push in the penalty area on Eto'o, with Eden Hazard scoring the resulting spot kick. Substitute Demba Ba capitalised on a Sandro stumble to tuck in from close range and then pounced on Kyle Walker's underhit header to round Hugo Lloris.

Elsewhere, two Steven Caulker goals ensured Fulham FC lost 3-1 at relegation rivals Cardiff City FC. The Cottagers remain four points adrift of safety as 17th-placed West Bromwich Albion FC were beaten 3-0 by a Wayne Rooney-inspired Manchester United FC.

FA Cup
Arsenal booked their place in the semi-finals with a 4-1 victory against Everton FC, substitute Olivier Giroud scoring twice in three minutes late on to seal the win. Mikel Arteta's penalty had restored the Gunners' lead after Romelu Lukaku had cancelled out Mesut Özil's opener.
