Russia round-up: CSKA exact revenge

PFC CSKA Moskva, last season's runners-up, defeated champions FC Lokomotiv Moskva 2-0 in Monday's derby.

PFC CSKA Moskva, last season's runners-up, exacted revenge on Russian Primera-Liga champions FC Lokomotiv Moskva by defeating them 2-0 in today's capital derby.

CSKA domination
League leaders CSKA dominated the fixture at the Dinamo stadium, where first-half goals from Igor Yanovsky and Jirí Jarosík helped them to re-establish a five-point lead over second-placed FC Dinamo Moskva, who beat FC Uralan Elista 5-1 away yesterday.

Sour note
Ognien Koroman, returning from suspension, inspired Dinamo to victory, scoring twice. Vitaly Grishin, Michal Ganek and Pascal Mendy were also on target, while Sergei Semochko scored a consolation goal for Uralan. There was one sour note for Dinamo, though, as goalkeeper Roman Berezovsky was sent off after 77 minutes.

Spartak setback
FC Spartak Moskva suffered yet another setback as former player Alexander Shirko inspired FC Torpedo Moskva to a 3-0 success in another capital derby. Sergei Budylin opened the scoring from the spot on 31 minutes before Shirko struck late in each half to leave Spartak with just one win from seven outings.

Brazilian influence
Although Spartak continue to struggle, FC Krylya Sovetov Samara shook off their poor form in style by defeating FC Rostov 3-0. Brazilian players registered all three goals, with Souza scoring twice, the second a superb 30-metre free-kick, and Gaucho heading his first goal of the season in the 29th minute. FC Spartak-Alania Vladikavkaz climbed to third as Vitaly Chochiev scored the only goal against FC Saturn Moskovskaya Oblast.

Novotny on top
FC Rubin Kazan defender Jirí Novotny moved to the top of the goalscoring charts by scoring his fourth goal of the season to salvage a 2-2 draw in the final minute against FC Shinnik Yaroslavl. Elsewhere, FC Zenit St. Peterburg against SC Rotor Volgograd finished scoreless, as did FC Torpedo-Metallurg Moskva's meeting with FC Chernomorets Krasnodarskiy Kray, for whom Ansar Ayupov missed an 80th-minute penalty.
