Stajic strike proves enough

Luxembourg 0-1 Bosnia-Herzegovina A Duško Stajic strike secures victory for the visitors.

Bosnia-Herzegovina kept alive their slender hopes of qualifying for next summer's UEFA European Under-21 Championship with a crucial 1-0 victory away to Luxembourg in their penultimate qualifier.

Goals essential
The result, secured by midfield player Duško Stajic's 14th-minute strike, after an 18-metre Albin Pelak free-kick had been parried by Laurent Mond, meant that Bosnia-Herzegovina moved to within three points of second-placed Denmark in Group 2, and now have 13 points from seven matches. However, although Bosnia-Herzegovina have home advantage for their final qualifier against the Danes on 10 October, having suffered a 3-0 defeat in the reverse fixture in Köge in April, only a big win will be enough to earn second place.

No points
Luxembourg, meanwhile, remained pointless and goalless after seven matches, having conceded 26 in that time. They end their campaign with an away trip to section leaders Norway, also on 10 October.
