Article body
Slovakian champions MŠK Žilina have sacked their coach, Milan Lešický, after a disappointing start to the season.
Poor start
Lešický was dismissed today after a return of just one victory and four draws from the first seven league games of the season. The final straw came with the 3-0 home defeat last Friday by MŠK Ružomberok that left Žilina second from bottom.
Utrecht test
Former Žilina goalkeeper Juraj Šimurka will take charge until the end of the season. Žilina, beaten by Chelsea FC in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round, open their UEFA Cup campaign with a first-round first-leg visit to FC Utrecht on 24 September.
