Four-year deal
The 54-year-old had done the job on an honorary basis since his election as chairman at the end of June. Now he has agreed a four-year contract with Stuttgart's supervisory board. The former boss of IBM Germany will take over the department's marketing and public relations.
'Always available'
"For the operational head of the club it is essential that the president is always available," said Dieter Hundt, chairman of the supervisory board. "This decision allows us to maintain a professional structure." Stuttgart began their UEFA Champions League group stage campaign last week with a 2-1 loss against Rangers FC.
