AFC Ajax have renegotiated goalkeeper Bogdan Lobont's contract, extending it by two years until July 2008.
'Very happy'
The 25-year-old Romanian international expressed his delight at the new agreement, saying: "Of course I am very happy that I can sign an extended and improved contract at Ajax. I hope that when this agreement runs out in 2008, I will again be in a position to sign another contract."
Romanian return
Lobont joined Ajax in 2000 from AFC Rapid Bucuresti but initially struggled to settle and spent the 2001/02 season on loan at FC Dinamo Bucuresti, winning the Divizia A title in his homeland.
First choice
On his return to the Netherlands, Lobont missed much of the first half of last season due to injury but subsequently established himself in the Ajax first team and he has continued as Ronald Koeman's No1 so far this season.
