Article body
BV Borussia Dortmund's injury crisis deepened today when their Brazilian defender Dede was ruled out until the new year.
Injury crisis
The 25-year-old left-back will have surgery on his left ankle tomorrow and is not expected to play again for two to three months, ruling him out the UEFA Cup second-round tie against FC Sochaux Montbéliard of France. Dortmund are already missing a host of key men, including midfield players Tomáš Rosický, Flavio Conceição and Torsten Frings, striker Marcio Amoroso and defender Evanilson.
Further blow
They received a further blow earlier this week when another midfielder, Sebastian Kehl, was given a five-match domestic ban after he was sent off for kicking an opponent during last weekend's 3-0 Bundesliga loss at VfL Bochum 1848. Dortmund were also knocked out of the German Cup by VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach on Wednesday.
