Satisfaction in San Sebastian

Juventus FC's goalless draw at Real Sociedad de Fútbol left both coaches with smiles on their faces.

Both coaches were happy with the goalless draw which moved Real Sociedad de Fútbol a step closer to the UEFA Champions League's knockout stages and assured visitors Juventus FC of a place in the last 16.

'Good football'
"I am very happy," Juventus coach Marcello Lippi said. "We have been playing very good football for the last three months. I am very happy with all my players since they have qualified for the next round. But the best result on the night was the score in the other match. It is unusual to qualify for the next round with two games to spare."

Juve tighten grip
Olympiacos CFP eased to a 3-0 home win against Galatasaray SK, meaning the Italian champions' margin over the Greek and Turkish sides increased to an unassailable seven points. Real's destiny is still in their own hands after dominating the encounter - and their display drew Lippi's admiration.

Real tipped
The Juve coach praised their "tactical organisation". Stating that he felt Real were better than the other two teams in the group, Lippi said he held the opinion "not just because of tonight. I think Real are better because I have watched those teams on many occasions".

General optimisim
Real may have missed their chance to win, but they are four points ahead of Galatasaray and Olympiacos, and need only one win from the final two matchdays to advance. Coach Raynald Denoueix reflected the general optimism when he said: "We played very well in the first half, and the second half was more equal. The only thing missing in the match was a goal."

Nihat happy
Striker Nihat Kahveci, returning after missing the trip to Turin, was denied on more than one occasion by Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon in that first-half display. Despite drawing a blank, he declared: "The score is good for us because both Galatasaray and Olympaicos have three points at the moment - but we went out to win the match."

Difference of opinion
Nihat's view that the draw was valuable was not universally shared, Bittor Alkiza saying: "The point was not good for Real because we should have won." However, the majority opinion was voiced by defender Aitor López, who declared: "The point is good for Real because of the result of the other game."

Sights set
Victory at Olympiacos on 25 November would now seal Real's progress, although even if they lose they still have the visit of Galatasaray in which to seek the points they need. Juventus, meanwhile, need win only one of their remaining two games to clinch first place in the group, but they can already set their sights on the knockout stages.
