Three-match ban for Amoruso

Rangers FC central defender Lorenzo Amoruso will incur a three-match ban after his sending off at Ross County FC on Wednesday night.

Rangers FC central defender Lorenzo Amoruso will incur a three-match ban after his sending off in the Scottish League Cup at Ross County FC on Wednesday night.

Former captain
The Italian was dismissed for aiming a kick at County forward Conor Gethins and has now collected more than 16 penalty points. Amoruso, a former captain of the Glasgow club, will miss matches against Hibernian FC and Motherwell FC in addition to Saturday's game at Dundee FC.

'Violent conduct'
"The player was dismissed for violent conduct and will receive an automatic one-game ban for the dismissal and a further two-match suspension for reaching 16 points," said a Scottish Football Association (SFA) spokesman.

UEFA Cup date
The ban, however, does not extend to UEFA Cup ties and Amoruso will be available for selection for the second leg of Rangers' third-round tie with Paris Saint-Germain FC in the French capital next week. The first game at Ibrox stadium ended goalless.
