Kahn to miss Nantes trip

FC Bayern München goalkeeper Oliver Kahn will miss Wednesday's UEFA Champions League trip to FC Nantes Atlantique with a knee injury.

The knee injury which sidelined FC Bayern München goalkeeper Oliver Kahn against Hertha BSC Berlin will also keep him out of Wednesday's UEFA Champions League trip to FC Nantes Atlantique.

Late winner
The 32-year-old, hurt in the European/South American Cup victory over Club Atlético Boca Juniors in Japan last week, watched his team-mates slip to a 1. Bundesliga defeat against Hertha on Sunday, Pál Dárdai netting the winning goal six minutes from time after Andreas Neuendorf had cancelled out Nico Kovac's opener for Bayern.

'Torn muscle'
Coach Ottmar Hitzfeld said: "Oliver Kahn has not reached the point where he can play. He has torn a muscle in the hollow of his knee which will take ten days to recover from."

Deputy Wessels
Stefan Wessels played against Hertha and is expected to deputise against Nantes, who edged past CS Sedan-Ardennes and into the third round of the French League Cup on Sunday.

Champions League dates
Bayern were held at home by Manchester United FC in their opening match of the second group stage of the Champions League, while French champions Nantes lost 1-0 in Portugal to Boavista FC. The English and Portuguese champions meet in Wednesday's other Group A match.
