AFC Ajax midfield player Anthony Obodai will likely miss the final group stage game against Club Brugge KV after being injured on his UEFA Champions League debut last night.

Carried off
The 21-year-old Ghanaian international made his first European appearance in the 1-0 Group H defeat by AC Milan but had to leave the pitch on a stretcher in the 54th minute. He suffered a deep wound in his left ankle after blocking a shot by Cafu.

Two weeks out
Obodai was taken to hospital from the Amsterdam ArenA and will now be out for up to a fortnight. The player, who spent last season on loan at KFC Germinal Beerschot, made his Eredivisie debut for Ajax last Sunday. Ajax must win at Club Brugge on 9 December to make sure of progressing to the Champions League knockout stage.
