Article body
Johan Mjällby could be a doubt for Celtic FC's UEFA Cup third-round tie against FK Teplice as he requires knee surgery which will rule him out for up to six weeks.
Derby victory
The Swedish central defender aggravated a long-standing injury during the build-up to Celtic's 3-0 defeat of Rangers FC on Saturday, a victory which gave the champions an eleven-point lead over their Glasgow rivals, who lie second. Mjällby has spent much of this season on the sidelines, a series of injuries limiting the 32-year-old to eight league appearances.
Home first leg
Mjällby will hope to be fit in time for the first leg of Celtic's UEFA Cup match against Teplice on 26 February. The return will follow in the Czech Republic on 3 March. There was some cheer for manager Martin O'Neill today, however, as he learned that Ulrik Laursen is expected back in training this week and will soon be followed by fellow defender Joos Valgaeren.
