Tümer pledges future to Besiktas

Tümer Metin has signed a two-year extension to his contract which was due to expire at the end of the season.

Aiming high
The 29-year-old Turkish international has now said he plans to stay at the Istanbul club for the rest of his career. "There is a family environment at Besiktas and I am happy to be a member of this friendly community," Tümer said. "As we did last season, we want to clinch the title this season too."

Deal delight
Hüsnü Güreli, vice-president of the Turkish champions, was delighted to complete the deal. "We are happy that we will be able to have Tümer in our team for two more years. He is one of the best signings we have made in the last few years," he said.

Ahmet also signs
Tümer joined Besiktas from Samsunspor in summer 2001. He made three appearances for the club in this season's UEFA Champions League group stage, which saw Besiktas finish third in their section and qualify for the UEFA Cup where they will meet Valencia CF in the third round. The club have also given a two-year contract extension to Ahmet Yildirim, the 29-year-old defender.
