French first division side FC Lorient have signed defender Pascal Delhommeau on loan from fellow strugglers FC Nantes Atlantique.

European experience
The 23-year-old centre-back had made just three starts for the champions in 2001/02, although was used more regularly in the UEFA Champions League campaign that saw Nantes make it to the second group stage. He will be at the Moustoir stadium until the end of the season.

Under-21 honours
Delhommeau, a graduate of the club’s academy, made his debut against Olympique de Marseille in August 1998 having helped France win the UEFA European Under-18 championship the previous year. Has also won U-21 honours.
