Sir Alex eases Rooney fears

Sir Alex Ferguson has eased fears Wayne Rooney might have further damaged his ankle after the forward surprisingly returned to the Manchester United FC starting lineup against FC Bayern München only to limp off ten minutes into the second half. "It was never a serious injury," said the United manager. "He was unlucky going over it again and he had a couple of challenges on it. He did everything I could ask of him. I don't think he'll be in contention [at the weekend] but he should be back next week."
