Andone back at Dinamo helm

Ioan Andone has replaced Cornel Talnar as coach of FC Dinamo 1948 Bucureşti, returning to the club he left in 2005. "I like the new Dinamo project," the 50-year-old said.

Ioan Andone has replaced Cornel Talnar as coach of FC Dinamo 1948 Bucureşti, returning on a two-year deal to the club he left in 2005.

The 50-year-old former Dinamo player previously coached them between 2003 and 2005, leading the club to a league and cup double in 2004 as well as Romanian Cups in 2003 and 2005. After leaving Dinamo he coached AC Omonia for a season in 2006/07 before returning to Romania and CFR 1907 Cluj, who he guided to the league and cup double, their first, in 2008.

Andone was sacked early the following season and after another spell abroad returned to Bucharest at the helm of FC Rapid Bucureşti for the second half of the 2009/10 campaign. "I like the new Dinamo project," said Andone, who was capped 55 times for Romania between 1981 and 1990.

"After three years without winning a trophy I want to bring the fans back to the stadium close to the team." Dinamo finished sixth in the Romanian league to earn a place in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League.
