Brøndby IF have confirmed Henrik Jensen as their head coach after he impressed in a caretaker role, guiding the Danish club into next season's UEFA Europa League qualifiers.
Jensen's contract was due to run until the end of the campaign, but it has now been extended until December 2011. The 50-year-old took over at Brøndby on 26 March after Kent Nielsen was dismissed following a 3-1 home defeat by HB Køge. Jensen led the side to 23 points from their last 11 league matches, taking the club from the lower half of the table into third place and a European spot.
Brøndby director Ole Palmå said: "Henrik Jensen succeeded in improving the team's performance and results when he was in charge. He stands for the kind of football we like to play at Brøndby and it has therefore been a natural step for us to extend Henrik's contract." Jensen himself said: "Brøndby is my club and there is nothing I would rather do than be in charge of our efforts to reach the top."
