Georgia remain unbeaten in UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying, but Temuri Ketsbaia's side were on course to top Group F before Aleksandrs Cauņa's late equaliser for Latvia.

A minute into added time, Kristaps Grebis nodded the ball down to Skonto FC midfielder Cauņa, and he produced a fine scissor-kick to deny Georgia all three points. David Siradze had put the visitors ahead on 74 minutes, scoring from close range after Ucha Lobzhanidze flicked Jano Ananidze's free-kick into his path.

The game came to life after half an hour, with Artjoms Rudņevs unexpectedly finding himself one-on-one with Georgia keeper Nukri Revishvili after a slip-up from visiting captain Kakha Kaladze. However, he mis-hit woefully. The lively Ananidze responded with a surging run, and compelled Latvia's Andris Vaņins to make a diving save to his left.

Rudņevs missed the best opportunity of the half on 37 minutes, with the KKS Lech Poznań striker shooting high and wide from close range after he was first to the rebound from Juris Laizāns' powerful shot. The same player went a little closer with a header just after half-time from a Laizāns corner.

However, Latvia were then spared as Murtaz Daushvili was ruled offside when he tapped in the loose ball after Vaņins could only parry David Kvirkvelia's thunderbolt drive. Siradze then put Georgia ahead, but while Cauņa's response was late, it was just reward for Aleksandrs Starkovs' side.
