SSC Napoli have filled the void created by Fabio Quagliarella's loan move to Juventus with the signing of striker José Ernesto Sosa from FC Bayern München for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old Argentinian international has accepted a four-year deal with the Azzurri, who opened their Serie A campaign with a 1-1 draw at ACF Fiorentina on Sunday. Sosa joined Bayern in summer 2007 from Club Estudiantes LP for a fee in the region of €9m but struggled for regular football in Bavaria, scoring twice in 35 Bundesliga games before returning to his former club on loan in January this year. The forward, capped six times by Argentina, links up with a Napoli squad featuring his countrymen Hugo Campagnaro and Ezequiel Lavezzi.
Napoli have also landed Algerian international midfielder Hassan Yebda on a season's loan from SL Benfica, with the option of a permanent switch next summer. The 26-year-old played in the English top flight with Portsmouth FC last term. Yebda's new club will meet Liverpool FC, FC Steaua Bucureşti and FC Utrecht in UEFA Europa League Group K.
