Striker Luis Fabiano has ended speculation about his future at Sevilla FC by signing a two-year contract extension with the Spanish club.

The new terms commit the 29-year-old Brazilian international, whose previous deal was due to expire next summer, to the UEFA Europa League contenders until the end of the 2012/13 campaign. "It has been a typical summer with people saying I might leave, but in the end I'm happy to stay," he said. "I've been here five seasons and I want to keep scoring goals and making history for Sevilla."

Luis Fabiano joined the Andalusian outfit five years ago from FC Porto, helping them to successive UEFA Cup victories – in 2006 and 2007 – a UEFA Super Cup and two Copa del Rey triumphs. In total, the former AA Ponte Preta, Stade Rennais FC and São Paulo FC forward has scored 95 goals in all competitions for Sevilla.

Midfielder Aldo Duscher, meanwhile, has left the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán after his contract was cancelled, with the 31-year-old Argentinian opting to move to RCD Espanyol on a 12-month deal. Sevilla face Paris Saint-Germain FC, FC Karpaty Lviv and BV Borussia Dortmund in UEFA Europa League Group J.
