Karpaty's Batista ruled out for a month

FC Karpaty Lviv coach Oleg Kononov will be without William Batista for the Ukrainian side's next two UEFA Europa League outings after the striker underwent knee ligament surgery.

FC Karpaty Lviv striker William Batista will be out for "at least a month" after undergoing knee ligament surgery.

The Brazilian forward picked up an injury during last week's 4-3 defeat by BV Borussia Dortmund, making way for Mykhaylo Kopolovets after just 13 minutes. Batista has since had an operation, and Karpaty coach Oleg Kononov is resigned to being without him for the forthcoming UEFA Europa League games at Paris Saint-Germain FC on 30 September and at home to Sevilla FC on 21 October.
