FC Internazionale Milano forward Diego Milito is expected to miss Wednesday's UEFA Champions League game against SV Werder Bremen after suffering a "slight strain" to a muscle in his right thigh during Saturday's 1-0 Serie A defeat at AS Roma.

The 31-year-old Argentinian international, who scored both goals as Inter beat FC Bayern München 2-0 in last season's UEFA Champions League final, was replaced by Sulley Muntari after 67 minutes of the game at the Stadio Olimpico. "Tests have revealed a slight strain to the quadriceps muscle in his right leg," read a statement from the Nerazzurri.

The Roma defeat was Inter's first in Serie A this season, and they will look to put it behind them at home against Bremen on Wednesday, having opened their Group A campaign with a 2-2 draw at debutants FC Twente.
