Jérémy Toulalan is unlikely to play a part in Olympique Lyonnais's UEFA Champions League home-and-away games against SL Benfica after suffering a relapse of his foot injury at the weekend.

The 27-year-old midfielder returned to Lyon's starting XI on Sunday after a ten-day lay-off, but lasted just 38 minutes in the 3-1 win against LOSC Lille Métropole before being replaced by Maxime Gonalons. Speaking ahead of Wednesday's Group B home meeting with Benfica, Les Gones coach Claude Puel confirmed that Toulalan "will miss the next two weeks".

"We knew we were risking aggravating the injury by testing him in a game," Puel added. "Now he has to recover." Toulalan, who contested every minute of Lyon's opening two matches in the section, is also a doubt for the return encounter with Benfica in Lisbon on 2 November.
