Saviola suspended for two games

FC Barcelona's Argentinian striker Javier Saviola has been banned for two UEFA Cup matches.

Violent conduct
The Argentinian international was dismissed in the 49th minute of last week's game at Parkhead, and the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body today decided that his offence of violent conduct in retaliation warranted a two-match ban. This rules Saviola out of the return leg at Camp Nou on 25 March and also the first leg of a possible quarter-final.

Further investigation
Meanwhile, the Control and Disciplinary Body decided to postpone the cases of Celtic goalkeeper Robert Douglas and Barcelona midfield player Thiago Motta, who were both sent off following an incident in the tunnel at half-time, in order to conduct further investigations. The actions of Celtic defender Bobo Balde during the same incident will also be investigated by the Control and Disciplinary Body, with these cases now being heard on 22 March.
