Goalkeeper Marco Wölfli has agreed a three-year contract extension with UEFA Europa League contenders BSC Young Boys, with the Berne club also concluding a permanent transfer for on-loan defender Alain Nef.
Swiss international Wölfli, 28, has been with Young Boys for his whole career, barring 18 months on loan at FC Thun between 2002 and 2003, and has accepted a new deal that will take his expiring contract through to 2015.
The YB captain said: "I have always said I wouldn't move abroad just to say I have played abroad. YB have built impressive foundations. The club offer the best chance of success and extraordinary prospects by Swiss standards."
Meanwhile, former FC Zürich right-back Nef, also 28, has signed terms with the Super League outfit until 2015 following a successful loan spell this term. Nef played in Italy with Piacenza FC and Udinese Calcio, before Udinese loaned him to RC Recreativo de Huelva, US Triestina Calcio and then YB.
"Young Boys have made it easy for me to fit in," said the three-times Swiss international. "My family and I like it in Berne." Nef has appeared in all four of Young Boys' UEFA Europa League Group H games, with the team second in the section ahead of the Matchday 5 visit of leaders VfB Stuttgart.
