'There is an agreement'
The 35-year-old defender's current contract is due to expire in 2005 but the former Italian international revealed that he will sign up for an additional season with the European champions. "I still haven't signed but there is an agreement with the club for a new contract until 2006," he said.
Impressive career
Maldini is in his 20th season with Milan, following his debut against Udinese Calcio in January 1985. He has won six Italian titles and four European Champion Clubs' Cups. Now retired from international football, he earned a record 126 caps for Italy and has been voted one of the top 20 European players of the last 50 years in UEFA's Golden Jubilee poll.
