• Returned to Bellinzona in October 2005, leading them to the 2007/08 Swiss Cup final, where they lost 4-1 to FC Basel 1893; gained consolation two weeks later, beating Krassimir Balakov's FC St Gallen to win a Super League place via a relegation/promotion play-off.
• Appointed as Young Boys coach in August 2008, leading them to second-placed finishes in his first two seasons in charge as well as defeat by Sion in the 2008/09 Swiss Cup final.
