The making of Vladimir Šmicer

We visit the grassroots club where it all began for the EURO '96 finalist and UEFA Champions League winner.

Vladimir Šmicer played a vital role in Liverpool FC's memorable UEFA Champions League victory against AC Milan in the 2005 final, scoring in both normal time and the resulting penalty shoot-out. A winner of 81 caps for the Czech Republic, we visit the village where it all began for the former midfield star and speak to his former team-mates at grassroots club TJ Verneřice.
