Milan sign left-back Dídac Vilà from Espanyol

Left-back Dídac Vilà, capped by Spain at Under-19 and U20 levels, has joined UEFA Champions League contenders AC Milan from RCD Espanyol for a reported fee of around €3m.

Serie A leaders AC Milan have signed left-back Dídac Vilà from RCD Espanyol for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of €3m.

Milan say that the 21-year-old, who came through the Barcelona club's youth system and has represented Spain at Under-19 and U20 levels, will be committed to the Rossoneri until June 2015 after passing medical tests. He played a total of 24 Spanish Liga games for Espanyol.

The San Siro outfit will take on Tottenham Hotspur FC in the UEFA Champions League round of 16, with their tie kicking off in Milan on 15 February and concluding in London on 9 March.
