Cristiano Oliveira wings his way to Sporting

Cristiano Oliveira has joined Sporting Clube de Portugal on a free from fellow UEFA Europa League participants PAOK FC. "I will do everything not to disappoint the fans," said the winger.

Sporting Clube de Portugal have confirmed the signing of winger Cristiano Oliveira on a free transfer after the player left PAOK FC.

The 27 year-old, who played in Portugal for FC Paços de Ferreira between January 2006 and early 2010 having moved from his homeland of Brazil, has penned a one-year deal with an option for two more. He made six league appearances for PAOK, two of which were starts, in the first half of the Greek season. "I will do everything not to disappoint the Sporting fans," he said.

Sporting meet Rangers FC in the UEFA Europa League round of 32 on 17 and 24 February, with the first leg taking place at Ibrox.
