FC Dynamo Kyiv will be without Taras Mikhalik for their UEFA Europa League round of 32 decider against Beşiktaş JK after the centre-back suffered a knee injury that could rule him out for the rest of the season.

Mikhalik injured his right knee during Dynamo's 4-1 first-leg victory in Istanbul last Thursday and is due to see a specialist in Belgium early next week to determine the best course of treatment.

"The MRI scan showed not only damage to the posterior of the meniscus but also a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in the right knee," read a club statement. "It will be decided in Belgium whether therapeutic treatment or surgery is required, meaning that he will either be able to play again this season or he will be out until the summer."

The 27-year-old defender, who has made six UEFA Europa League appearances this season, was substituted in the 73rd minute of Dynamo's 4-1 win. Should Yuri Semin's side prevail in the second leg they will face either Aris Thessaloniki FC or Manchester City FC in the round of 16 next month.
