The sale of tickets for UEFA EURO 2012 started today, with simultaneous ceremonies held in Warsaw and Kyiv to mark the occasion.

Direct sales of UEFA EURO 2012 tickets will be conducted via UEFA.com exclusively, from 1 to 31 March. During this month, everyone will have an equal chance to buy tickets, irrespective of when the application is made. Once the application period is closed, there will be a lottery to determine successful applicants for all those matches that have been oversubscribed.

A total of 1.4 million tickets will be made available for the final tournament of the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship and around 85% will end up in the hands of fans, through UEFA's official website, via the national associations of the 16 participating teams or through competitions organised by tournament sponsors.

The remaining tickets will be allocated to non-participating UEFA member associations, to other members of the football family such as confederations, clubs, referees and other officials, to host governments and the host cities, to VIP guests, as well as for the corporate hospitality programme.

Types of tickets:
• Individual Match Tickets: for single matches
• Follow My Team: to follow a specific team during the group phase or the whole tournament
• Venue Series: to attend all matches played in a specific stadium, be it for the group stage or for the knockout stage only.

By offering this new type of ticket – namely, Venue Series – UEFA wishes to give the opportunity to people living in the vicinity of any of the host cities to attend all matches taking place on their doorstep.

Finally, disabled persons have not been forgotten, and they will have the option of buying tickets for themselves and an accompanying person.

Further details on the types of ticket available can be found in the ticketing section of UEFA.com.
