• A right-back who made his U21 debut earlier this year in a friendly against finals hosts Denmark, Montoya suffered a broken collarbone and dislocated left shoulder on his first start for Barcelona in late April.

• Made his Liga bow as a substitute in Barcelona's 3-0 win at RCD Mallorca in February 2011, having been a regular for the club's B team over the past two seasons.

• Appeared in four of Spain's five matches at last summer's European U19 Championship, including the 2-1 defeat by hosts France in the final.
